Far north (UK-GL)

December 13, 2012

Far North is an independently produced film by director Asif Kapadia, based on a short story by Sara Maitland. It was screened at various film festivals in 2007 and 2008 before a US DVD release on September 23, 2008. Set during an unspecified time and place in the last half of the 20th century (the only clues to the date being the wind-up radio and the type of military rifles in use), it tells of a woman (Michelle Yeoh) and her adopted daughter (Michelle Krusiec), living in the Arctic tundra.
