The archaeological knowledge about Greenland’s history has developed explosively in recent decades. Gulløv‘s book describes Greenland prehistoric societies, from the first Paleo-Eskimo migration of around 4.5 million years ago until the 1800s, when European explorers, whalers and missionaries had left their land from the Greenlandic society.
Hans Christian Gulløv is Dr. Phil. from the University of Copenhagen who also thoroughly worked with Greenland’s prehistory and history. Since 1968 he has undertaken projects throughout Greenland and in Chukotka. Gulløv is also a research professor at the National Museum of Denmark.
